Running a small business teaches you quickly that time is your most valuable resource.
As the owner of Black Horse Videography, much of my work happens behind the scenes—planning timelines, organizing footage, managing workflows, and making sure every detail comes together smoothly for our couples. Creative work only shines when the systems supporting it are efficient and intentional.
Over the years, I’ve learned that the same principle applies well beyond videography.
Outside of Black Horse Videography, I also work in education, where teachers face many of the same challenges creatives do: limited time, growing administrative demands, and systems that don’t always work as smoothly as they should. Seeing those challenges from both perspectives pushed me to think more deeply about how better tools and better processes can make meaningful work more sustainable.
That thinking ultimately led me to help create EduSchool, an education technology project focused on simplifying systems and giving educators tools that respect their time and expertise. While EduSchool operates in a completely different space than videography, the core philosophy is the same—when systems work well, people can focus on what truly matters.
For me, building thoughtful workflows isn’t just about efficiency; it’s about protecting creativity, reducing unnecessary stress, and making space for meaningful moments—whether that’s capturing a wedding day or supporting teachers and students.

At the end of the day, no matter the industry, strong systems exist to serve people—not the other way around.
